There are cities whose very name awakens passions and fuels the imagination. Casablanca is one of them. The city captivates with its energy, disrupts with its dynamism, and seduces with its youth, history and heritage. Today, it continues its transformation, driven by a wind of renewal and modernity!
Like the country as a whole, Casablanca is evolving and modernising to offer a better quality of life for its residents and visitors. The metropolis is becoming more accessible, more inclusive and more competitive than ever.
Beyond being Morocco's economic hub, Casablanca is today an international financial centre, notably thanks to the development of Casablanca Finance City. The arts and culture are not left behind. As well as preserving and rehabilitating monuments, Casablanca is gaining new spaces for expression and new cultural and artistic events that are already well established. Sport, too, is at the heart of this transformation. Through its infrastructure, clubs, supporters and participants, the city projects the image of a young, dynamic and enthusiastic city. Sport is increasingly present in the city, particularly through running.
It is in this context that we are about to write a new page in the history of the Casablanca Marathon. As in all the great cities of the world, from Paris to New York, from Berlin to Tokyo, the marathon is a strong marker of identity. Our ambition is to bring together all energies to make this event a great sporting and urban celebration. A flagship event in Morocco and internationally. A competition to international standards that allows you to discover Casablanca differently, and that gives the people of Casablanca an additional reason to be proud of their city.
A new team therefore, and new ambitions to organise a competition to international standards, attract more participants, 20,000 by 2030, and place the Casablanca International Marathon on the international agenda of the most prestigious running competitions.
The 2026 course will, as in 2025, be fully secured and entirely closed to road traffic. A decisive step forward that guarantees runners a smooth, safe and immersive experience.
Conceived as a true moving Casablanca stroll, this new route crosses the iconic sites of the city and highlights its tourism, architectural, sporting and economic assets.
The start and finish are near the Hassan II Mosque, with a breathtaking view of the ocean. Runners then follow the city corniche and pass by iconic sites such as the Mausoleum of Sidi Abderrahman and Morocco Mall before heading to the towers of Casablanca Finance City.
Passing through the Mohammed V sports complex marks the entrance into the historic and art deco districts of the city. Runners then see the Wilaya headquarters, the post office and Bank al-Maghrib buildings, the Grand Theatre of Casablanca, the Sacred Heart Cathedral, the Arab League Park, La Casablancaise, etc.

In line with the standards of major international marathons, the 2026 edition will offer runners an optimal experience at every stage of the course. Full refreshment stations (liquids and solids) will be deployed throughout the route, accompanied by a reinforced medical team, with continuous presence of rescue teams and nursing staff. All essential elements that guarantee safety, comfort and performance for participants.
Throughout the course, musical and artistic entertainment is planned to offer a festive experience for both runners and spectators and local residents, invited to take part in this great urban celebration.
A true highlight of Marathon week, the Marathon Village is set up ahead of the race and opens widely to the public. It offers a complete immersion in the world of the event through exhibitor stands, entertainment, conferences and sharing moments around running culture.
For runners, it is also a gateway into the race: race bib collection, course familiarisation, building up the atmosphere… The Village thus becomes a place of encounters, discoveries and shared emotion ahead of the big day.
The Casablanca Marathon is committed to an ambitious eco-responsible approach, with rigorous waste management including sorting and recycling, and environmental awareness actions.
At the same time, the event strengthens its local roots by involving neighbourhood associations, volunteers, young people and local businesses, making the marathon a true city project, sustainable and unifying.
